Summary:


The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver and coordinate training content in support of the Network Operations Center, Business Operations Support team and the Service Delivery team for new hires as well as existing staff. Responsibilities include development of training material, coordination and facilitation of training events and other learning initiatives. The trainer will also actively engage in providing a positive onboarding experience to new hires to ensure standard practices are followed for all. This position requires a high level of communication and frequent interaction with Operations and Engineering teams in support of skill enhancement.



Duties and Responsibilities:


Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:



  • Delivery of content on topics which include process, products, services and soft skills training

  • Create and deliver a standard on-boarding process for new hire employees including the requests for login and tool access depending on role

  • Develops material for presentation in multiple formats -- leader-led classroom, self-study, on-line/JoinMe delivery, and other means as required to meet the business needs

  • Coordinates and reviews materials with stakeholders and internal Engineering teams to ensure consistent delivery and implementation of all company initiatives

  • Performs needs analysis, specifying content and format

  • Evaluates and measures post-training performance to refine and improve training content and format, monitors and tracks delivered training, certification and testing

  • Proactively engages Supervisors/Managers/Directors in communication, and identifies and acts upon opportunities which will positively impact operations

  • Develops training measurements via testing and certifications. Reviews individual certifications to ascertain level of retention, ability to perform the assigned role and assists leadership with ensuring employees reach the desired level of performance

  • Provides continuous coaching to employees on all aspects of their performance, to include critical skills needed to perform their role successfully

Education:


The qualified candidates should possess a four year college degree in education or training, or equivalent experience preferably in an ISP or similar environment.



Experience/Skills Needed:



  • Highly motivated individual, able to work without direct supervision, able to communicate and work proactively with internal customers

  • Organized with strong attention to details

  • Proven ability to facilitate a live training event or online webinars

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects



  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to write a variety of communication pieces to provide information pertinent to training

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where flexibility and teamwork are essential

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships while maintaining level of professionalism

  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is strongly preferred

  • Must have proven ability to creatively develop and deliver training materials



Computer Skills:


Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and basic understanding of accessing and utilizing web based applications.

Location:


This role will be located in Naperville Illinois but other areas in WOW's footprint may be considered for the right candidate.
