Summary:

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the System Technicians. Sets priorities for the team, assigns tasks, and checks work performance at regular intervals. Establishes, supports, and implements procedures, performance standards, and best practices.  Leading team through mentoring, training and development. Striving to achieve optimum network performance providing the ultimate customer experience.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • Supervises System and Locate technicians to ensure compliance with company guidelines regarding quality and customer service requirements
  • Selects and provides training and direction to System Technicians on all maintenance activities, proper work methods, quality standards, safety standards and equipment
  • Schedules technicians to maximize coverage meeting network maintenance demands
  • Assists Management in assuring that any service issues are promptly resolved
  • Maintains accurate time and attendance reporting
  • Assists in developing, recommending and administering technical operations policies and procedures and maintains regular quality audits for compliance
  • Reviews FCC technical requirement and maintains records accordingly
  • Performs all FCC-related field testing; maintains network at or better than design specifications
  • Enforces performance standards and guidelines for Field Operations
  • Implements/monitors ongoing work safety programs in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Coordinates vehicle preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Strives to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as set forth by the company
  • Assists in the development and management of the department’s operating budget in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Assists in the interview/hiring process, coaching, and counseling. Participates in ongoing review process for direct reports and administers discipline consistent with corporate polices.
  • Works with managers, supervisors and employees to promote a positive attitude and good employee morale
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of a broadband communication organization, administration, standards, regulations, and rules
  • Familiarity with FCC, state PUC and OSHA specifications, regulations, and standards
  • Understanding of broadband communication technology, materials and equipment
  • Able to develop and justify budgets, cost estimates and work/equipment recommendations
  • Understand thoroughly the concept and scope of broadband network plant operations, demand and problems
  • Accepts responsibility for independent decisions and works with minimal supervision
  • Able to analyze and solve problems with sophisticated test equipment
  • Able to prepare company regulatory and industry compliance reports
  • Continues education in technological developments and industry standards
  • Experience with both Capital and Operational budgeting, preparation and control
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, management, employees
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
  • Maintains a professional appearance and appropriate behavior at all times.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required; three to four years of experience and related associates degree or equivalent combination of experience, training and education; supervisory or management experience preferred.



Computer Skills: 



GSuite, MSOffice software, Internet and e-mail; technical database software as required.
