Engineer III, Service Implementation

The Service Implementation Engineer III leads and provides oversight of the interoperability/reliability of the Service infrastructure with the associated platform that it relies upon. The Service Implementation Engineer III, ensures scheduled maintenance activities occur and provides guidance and expert knowledge to the team to ensure systems and infrastructure reliability to drives the utilization of best practices and other methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development of technical documentation for all Service Infrastructure implemented company-wide and maintain team repository
  • Oversees deployment of new equipment, management of server configurations and updates as necessary
  • Oversees backup and maintenance of service infrastructure systems
  • Maintain standards-based software deployment globally for all service implementation systems
  • Oversees Audit of server utilization and licenses consumption, recommend and execute upgrades as required
  • Lead large special projects or assignments, executes within deadlines
  • Oversees and plan system health, performance, and software management
  • Oversees analysis of present systems and operations; document existing procedures and operating methods; define requested system requirements; and analyze documentation files and reports
  • Make recommendations for the introduction of or enhancements to new and existing technologies and products to the Engineering Ops leadership team.
  • Perform evaluation of equipment as needed for various projects
  • Procure and oversee the building of test suites for lab testing
  • Make formal recommendations for system implementations and/or enhancements based on analysis and evaluations
  • Ensures the system is maintained at a top performance level and ensures that all technical aspects of the system's design are met
  • Maintain documentation and perform other administrative duties
  • Plan multiple projects simultaneously. Estimate, track & complete projects on time and within budget
  • Lead group of engineers and technicians, responsible for budget and manpower estimates
  • Lead, Mentor and train technical staff and Service Implementation Engineer I & II
  • Create processes, monitor and validate engineering handoffs to ensure proper alignment
  • Provide guidance and training to workgroups
  • Delivers effective presentations to critical/high-level customers and effectively represents workgroup on review panels and cross-organizational teams
  • Other duties as assigned

BS or equivalent related work experience

-Experience/Skills Needed:

  • 6-8 years' related work experience
  • 3-5 years' experience leading workgroups
  • Strong server infrastructure background with experience working in a large Service Implementation network
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco EC7 Controller, Motorola Dac Controller, Metaswitch, Adtran,Ilec,Clec, Vod Platform
  • Strong understanding of IP Networks and Subnetting
  • Proficient in IP Multicast
  • Basic Knowledge of CDN networks
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and process flow
  • Extensive Knowledge of RF/headend Architecture
  • SME of RF/Qam Experience or Voice Infrastructure
  • Moderate understanding of AC and DC power Plants
  • SME with industry-standard test equipment
  • Proficient in creating Documentation such as MOPS
  • Strong with Process flow and Troubleshooting Steps

-Computer Skills:

Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Basic CLI Commands of Unix/Linux. G Suite experience preferred.
