At WOW!, we look for the best talent in our roles. The Product and Network Engineering QA Manager position is no exception. You will be responsible for all planning and day-to-day oversight of Software and Systems Quality Assurance and QA Automation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct a team of Quality Assurance engineers, including full-time employees and contractors, and provide leadership and mentorship to coach, motivate, and lead team members to optimum performance levels and career development

  • Accountable for delivery of QA team workload and objectives

  • Establish and maintain standard processes, procedures, tools, and methods to ensure changes to video systems and software that meet the needs of both internal and external customers

  • Develop processes and documentation for the Quality Assurance Engineer role within the project lifecycle

  • Assesses new engineering projects and initiatives to support, enhance, and improve the efficiency of the business and provides recommendations

  • Balance resource and services scopes of work from testing vendors

  • Serve as a liaison and facilitator with business units to assist in addressing and resolving engineering issues

  • Troubleshoot and run issues lists, scorecards and executive communications pertaining to the quality of deployed products and services as well as those under development

  • Work closely with various engineering teams on current production system defects, changes or upgrades to seek problems and improve processes or systems as they relate to our products and network

  • Investigate and resolve product and services functionality related issues and provide assistance with troubleshooting

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification or related experience within multiple tiers of engineering at a multi-service operator

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • 6+ years experience working in software and/or software derived product delivery

  • 3+ years experience in a management/supervisory position.

  • Must be comfortable in rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous work situations

  • Keen attention to detail and complex problem-solving abilities from an operational and technical perspective

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and an approach that favors results above all else

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Hybrid Waterfall/Agile

  • Deep understanding of industry-standard software testing tools (i.e. Selenium, Serenity, etc.), quality assurance methodologies and standards

  • Extensive experience with full software testing automation, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment/Delivery, DevOps, UI/UX (web, mobile), API/services, and database-level validation automation

  • Software skills such as Linux, python, postman, and shell scripting languages such as bash to enable writing a logical automation test script

  • Ability to consume functional and non-functional requirements and ensure complete test coverage

  • Ability to lead test strategy, test plan, and test case compilation, ensuring that testing artifacts are complete, consistent, comprehensible, traceable, and feasible, that they conform to standards, and that they provide complete coverage including positive, negative, functional, non-functional, performance, load, and security testing

  • Provide and lead peer reviews and inspections of test strategies, plans, and case documents

  • Have the ability to define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional testing requirements

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, help negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts among project partners (such as customers, product management, and IT)

  • Experience with JIRA and Zephyr a plus

  • Experience with IP video/ OTT products and service a plus
