Director, Local Marketing



The Director, Local Marketing will provide oversight to all strategic frame-up and the execution of WOW's local brand and marketing initiatives to drive improved brand health, lead generation, revenue, and subscriber connects for the business. The Director, Local Marketing will have responsibility over market prioritization, offer positioning, creative strategy, competitive insights, partnership and sponsorship identification and execution, measuring/evaluating performance, and overall expectation to drive and improve local acquisition efforts. This position will oversee process development, support field marketing, perform budget management and manage cross functional campaigns and communications.



Duties and Responsibilities



Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:



  • Builds and cultivates collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to drive strategic joint business planning initiatives



  • Creates customized local marketing plans, programs, and communications to acquire and retain customers in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Product, and applicable System Managers

  • Participates on the Market Prioritization steering committee to identify individual market opportunities and go-to-market plans with key business leaders to build brand awareness and achieve goals that support business growth

  • Collects and analyzes consumer research, market trends within specific product lines and customer segments, competitive information, and industry trends to properly support all local marketing efforts


  • • Serves as the primary interface between the corporate marketing team and field operations to effectively support all branding, image, awareness and marketing efforts for both Residential and Business Services



  • Identifies, negotiates, and implements local partnership, sponsorship and event opportunities to drive acquisition, retention, and brand awareness efforts in support of company goals



  • Oversees the offer strategy and creative development of customer collateral, field fulfillment and sales materials across the footprint to ensure consistency and economies of scale

  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports on local marketing programs regularly to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness

  • Engages our programming partners to support local events and sponsorships as appropriate

  • Recommends innovative and creative marketing approaches for revenue growth

  • Has responsibility for planning and reporting of local marketing budget, accrual and expenditure

  • Other duties as assigned

Education:


Bachelor's Degree Business, Marketing or related field



Experience/Skills Needed:



  • 7-10 years previous marketing experience

  • 5-7 years cable/telecommunications industry experience preferred.

  • Some field/local marketing experience preferred.

  • Proven leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for innovation and agile responsiveness including a minimum of 5 years previous leadership experience.



  • Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating a strategic vision and path of getting there.

  • Superior oral and written creative skills; experience drafting/editing offer positioning, marketing collateral, and making strategic recommendations.

  • Ability to work within a deadline-oriented, delivery-centered, fast-paced, team environment.

  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external audiences.

  • Travel required.



  • Energetic, charismatic, collaborative self-starter.

  • Demonstrated project management and organization skills; proven ability to manage multiple

  • priorities and projects while providing excellent follow-up.



Computer Skills:


Requires thorough working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and Adobe Creative Suite. Requires basic working knowledge of MS Publisher, MS Project, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
