Job Description

The VP of Sales and Client Services is responsible for bringing a strategic vision and sales executional excellence in developing and implementing programs and initiatives that will maximize WOW’s market share and product and services penetration in new and existing customers.  This role will have responsibility for directly leading the commercial inbound sales & retention team, the field-based client services team, and the team responsible for the acquisition, retention and growth of WOW’s multi-family MDU segment.  This role will collaborate closely with marketing, care, legal and product and will plan, manage, and execute rapid and profitable growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Develops strategic operating plans and respond to changing business conditions, emphasizing customer satisfaction and continuous process improvement
  • Develop and maintain strategic vision to enhance sales process and exceed sales expectations
  • Ensure overall departmental sales performance, profitable achievement of department sales goals and alignment of sales objectives with business strategy
  • Develops plans and strategies for ensuring long-term customer satisfaction including new customer acquisition, retention of current customers, and the execution of MDU access agreements (new and renewal contracts)
  • Continuously research, analyze, and monitor market and industry trends in order to remain competitive and meet overall objectives
  • Proactively monitor customer interaction and engagement trends
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high performing metric achieving team via recruitment, training, coaching, and motivating
  • Sets and exceeds rigorous KPIs supporting rapid revenue and profit growth including efficiencies
  • Collaborates with marketing on messaging, offers, scripts, and segment optimizations
  • Identify growth opportunities and create innovative ways to impact business results
  • Enhance processes for sales cycle funnel leads, prospects, pipeline, forecasting and delivery
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with outside consultants, local/regional developers and property managers
  • Partners with all members of leadership to develop and execute on the short and long term strategy for the organization and the development of action plans to deliver on commitments
  • Provide leadership for the overall operating performance of the business
  • Ensure that regular communication occurs with all departments and functions to set and maintain expectations and goals
  • Maintain accountability for teams and leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or the equivalent in training and experience

-Experience/Skills Needed:

  • 15+ years of experience in professional sales, specifically selling telecom services
  • 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry through direct or indirect work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of voice and data products
  • Ability to support a team of sales professionals
  • Ability to deliver presentations to large and small groups
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, with data mining skills a plus
  • Understanding of key performance indicators for telecommunications industry a plus
  • Management experience within telecom
  • Ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work with, and in, a team environment

-Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Google Suite and all Microsoft products and utilizing web based applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced Word processing skills, Power Point, Excel spreadsheets, email and Internet experience required.  Some knowledge of Accounting and General Ledger software preferred.
  • Ability to learn new software systems and access online support/tools
