Job Description


Summary:


Responsible for the design, development and delivery of customer service and technical training programs for the Installation/Repair, Plant Maintenance and outside contractor staff. The purpose of the position is to increase proficiency, productivity and development of the technical operations team and to ensure that other department employees stay current on customer service, retention, company procedures, (etc.) and other broadband industry information.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:



  • Develops, and delivers technical training program to all new I/R and Broadband technicians to include required technical skills, safety requirements and customer service initiatives.

  • Develops, and delivers ongoing training programs with technical management and supervisory team to increase proficiency, productivity and confidence throughout technical department with minimal negative impacts on system operations.

  • Promotes excellence by providing superior training services to every participant, placing primary importance on delivering superior customer service.

  • Maintains confidentiality and models company values.

  • Participates in and provides training on the region's safety program.

  • Develops goals and objectives for training function that incorporates/adapts to changes in the broadband communication industry.

  • Establishes and maintains knowledge of policies and procedures concerning safety, technical operations, and customer service objectives.

  • Establishes training-needs analysis and develops/delivers appropriate programs.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:


Five or more years work experience in broadband communication. Internal applicants must have completed all Broadband skill sets & be in compliance with related metrics. NCTI course completions through Service Technician desired but not required.


Language Ability:


Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills are required. Ability to present information and communicate effectively to all audiences.


Math Ability:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with a practical focus on drop loss theory.


Reasoning Ability:


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Individual must be organized, able to multi-task under pressure.


Computer Skills:


Working knowledge of MSOffice software including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Internet. Database or other software as required.

The employee generally works in an indoor office environment but occasionally works out of doors, in all types of weather and on uneven terrain. Overtime may be required.
