Staff Accountant


The Staff Accountant participates in general ledger closing activities on a regular basis; including preparation of account reconciliations, calculating adjustments, preparing journal entries, and maintaining records in an organized manner.


Duties & Responsibilities


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


* Calculates adjustments and prepares journal entries to ledger accounts
* Analyzes monthly ledger activity to complete balance sheet account reconciliation
* Research variances and propose adjustments
* Prepares reconciliations of company bank accounts
* Prepares analysis schedules for accounting accruals
* Maintains neat organization of accounting records
* Formulates financial analysis and reports
* Provides general assistance to other department functions
* Assists in preparation of quarterly and year-end audit of accounting records
* Responsible for other ad hoc reports and projects as assigned

Education/Experience


BS/BA in Accounting or Finance from four year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience required. Must be detail oriented, and possess great accuracy and organizational skills.


Computer Skills:


Experience with NetSuite accounting software beneficial but not required. High proficiency with MS Excel and analysis/problem solving capabilities. Ability to effectively navigate financial software, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Order processing, Inventory. Overall understanding of how each process (i.e. G/L, A/R, A/P) impacts the others. Intermediate to advanced capability in Excel. Ability to use email and internet.
