Job Description

Senior Vice President, Product


This position exists to drive WOW's business performance through the active management and development of products and services in Residential, Business and Wholesale markets. This position will partner and collaborate with internal and external partners in defining and developing the overall product roadmap for the company. This position has direct responsibility for product P&L by defining and implementing product and promotional pricing, core features, value-added services and functionality to achieve the desired strategic and financial objectives.


Duties & Responsibilities:


Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:



  • Lead Product Management, Development, Pricing, Customer Experience and Business Development team through clearly defining objectives/priorities, creating efficient processes to complete tasks and ensuring ongoing development of the team

  • Lead, define, represent and communicate product strategy and vision in collaboration with other departments for Residential, Business and Wholesale product lines aligned with WOW!'s overall strategy and reflecting the company's core capabilities and constraints

  • Develop and manage multi-year product roadmap

  • Drive the customer experience with each individual product and cross product solutions to align with WOW brand promise

  • Lead overall product lifecycle management process from concept development to launch, life cycle management and end of life as required

  • Develop and maintain pricing and promotion strategies across segments and product lines to drive accelerated sales velocity, while achieving required product and customer ARPU and market share targets

  • Develop scalable processes and infrastructure support analytics to quickly assess pricing actions and make appropriate recommendations/actions

  • Foster a mindset of innovation, agile development, fast failure and rapid success based scaling across the company, including further refinement of product processes, best practices and policies

  • Manage key product initiatives including ongoing product-related integration efforts related to WOW! acquisitions

  • Partner with marketing, channels, field, finance and other departments to successfully launch new products and services across the key strategic segments of the company

  • Work collaboratively with COO organization on the technology solutions to support product roadmap, including CPE and network elements to enable desired customer experience

  • Direct strategic vendor partners in delivery of their services and support of the company's business objectives

  • Monitor industry developments (technical, regulatory and competitive) and apply critical thinking for strategic and impact analysis

  • Work with Finance to create and revise product-specific and customer-based financial analysis as needed

  • Develop and lead scalable business development capability to ensure WOW! partners are identified and on boarded in alignment with strategic objectives

  • Assist in establishing dashboards, key product performance metrics to analyze product performance to ensure products and services are meeting targets

  • Monitor and analyze product performance reporting to ensure EBITDA and growth objectives are on track

  • Define and execute product-related research to yield needed insights on evolving customer needs, product gaps, competitive assessment and maniacal focus on the customer experience

  • Develop and manage budget within corporate guidelines

  • Provide direction for the development of marketing communications and customer education materials in support of product launches


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university (preferably in business or engineering).MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • 10+ years of product management, product development, pricing and promotion experience, preferably within the cable/telecom industry

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.

  • Robust analytical skills and ability to recommend appropriate solutions/direction, including ability to develop business cases and other financial modeling

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and demonstrated ability to leverage both internal and external resources

  • Superior organization skills with demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and tasks

  • Proven ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audience 



  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
