Job Description

The Senior Human Resource Manager will provide both human resources support to designated business units across dispersed geographic areas, and to provide direction to HR Managers and HR Business Partners. The Sr. Manager supports the company’s business goals through the implementation of strategies that attract, develop and retain high-performing employees. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below: 

  • Implements HR initiatives supporting the designated business units, aligned with established goals and objectives   
  • Provides strategic guidance to managers on effective handling of employee relations issues, including input for performance management situations 
  • Assists management with the performance review and goal creation process, providing training as necessary 
  • Supports three or more business units with enterprise-wide support
  • Maintains employee records as required by corporate policy and federal and state laws and maintains appropriate records in compliance with Affirmative Action goals  
  • Manages and communicates appropriate HR metrics, analyzing trends and recommending action 
  • Responds to (or provides direction for) unemployment claims and oversees unemployment appeals
  • Ensures new hire onboarding is conducted consistently and efficiently throughout the area   
  • Administers group benefit plans at the local level and provides assistance for problems that may exist between enrolled employees and the benefit program
  • Monitors workers’ compensation claims, analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement 
  • Supports safety implementation initiatives through committee participation, procedure education and creating safety awareness 
  • Supports organizational development in identifying training needs, and participates as necessary
  • Promotes development of the management team in support of positive employee relations 
  • Ensures ongoing system training and maintenance is managed appropriately for the area 
  • Supports rewards/recognition and wellness initiatives in support of company-wide programs and business operation
  • Supports Talent Acquisition and the recruitment strategy through understanding the recruitment module, participating in local hiring events and conducting/tracking appropriate outreach for affirmative action compliance

  • Must possess five to seven years of strong HR management experience; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of both education and experience  
  • Experience in employment/labor law, HR administration, organizational development, staffing, project management and budgeting is essential in addition the qualified applicant should have general understanding of benefits/compensation and safety regulations    
  • Experience in the cable, or similar, industry is preferred
  • Must possess ability to establish credibility with all levels of employees, as well as ability to build and maintain professional client relationships 
  • Must be highly organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, with proven ability to effectively present information on an individual basis and to groups of employees.  Must be able to create and deliver effective presentations 
  • Must be able to creatively identify solutions for a wide variety of problems 

Computer Skills:

  • Requires thorough working knowledge of Google Suite
