Job Description

Sr Director of Systems Analysis & QA

The Sr Director of Systems Analysis & QA leads the IT Systems Analysis team and QA practices. The role will be responsible for creating and maintaining the processes and governance necessary to ensure success for organizational projects and process transformations affecting the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Leads IT Systems Analyst & QA teams focused on driving business outcomes.
  • Utilizes strong Program Management and Agile methodologies to drive and ensure on-time, on-scope delivery of system/technical requirements and test plans for internal and customer-facing software solutions critical to WOW's success.
  • Develops and maintains a talent enhancement plan for the IT Systems Analysts & QA teams including development activities and career tracking.
  • Works with IT Technology teams to ensure projects are scoped correctly and included in overall roadmap.
  • Oversees Systems Analysis work including translating business requirements into systems requirements (i.e. IT functional requirements and detailed user stories), "current state" and "future state" documentation in written and graphical form (flows), and Business Process Modeling techniques and tools to create process models and to develop new or revised processes or procedures in lieu of system development.
  • Oversees Quality Assurance testing including, create test plans, scripts, bug tracking, etc. Drives the design, definition, implementation, and maintenance of test automation strategies that enable the team to perform more thorough regression testing of existing functionality and new application development.
  • Defines and maintains dashboards and collect metrics to measure each team's success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provides recommendations to executive management regarding QA automation strategies, approaches and tooling.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • Exceptional planning, organizational and communication skills.
  • 10+ years of software development, project management and QA experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a leadership role with people management responsibilities
  • Cable/telecommunications industry experience preferred
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development and deployment
  • Demonstrate good problem solving, negotiating, conflict management and decision-making skills
  • Experience translating business requirements into system/technical requirements and test cases, including ability to understand technical specifications such as API specs and other technical documentation
  • Passion for excellence in QA, advancing QA capabilities, Automation, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience leading offshore teams in an iterative development environment.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Analysis and QA activities with the use of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Visio and Lucid Chart.
