Job Description

The Senior Compensation Analyst oversees and participates in aspects of compensation including compensation program communication and training, program metrics and survey reporting.  This position is instrumental in the review, analyzing and recommendation of new employee compensation plans.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Manage the administrative aspects of the Company’s compensation program, with management for governance and oversight of several program components including job architecture, job leveling and pay practices
    • Ensure Compensation programs are consistent with Company’s pay philosophy and competitive by participating in and managing vendor benchmarking salary surveys
    • Evaluate the impact of compensation program design changes on employee engagement, retention and attraction of new talent
    • Ensure that the Compensation program is in compliance with all required state and federal laws and regulations and that all required reporting is completed in a timely manner including notification to employees
  • Administer WOW!’s stock plan to include processing new hire, promotional and recognition grants; manage company stock events including communication to employees;  participate and assist in the administration of monthly Equity Committee meetings, assist in the Board of Director reporting of quarterly equity reports and year end proxy reporting, as well as other transactional needs related to equity
  • Compile data and assist in the management of the STIP and LTIP programs, including overall administration for the analytical data; as well as issuance of annual LTIP stock grants
  • Provide support as required for any Compensation related matters to:
    • Assist with compensation evaluation and design reviews as needed
    • Review and approve new job titles, job descriptions and compensation recommendations for internal and external candidates
  • Administer, monitor and distribute reports based on HR analytics compiled by outside vendors and/or participate in implementation of internal HR metrics and analytics system

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.


5+ years of experience in managing compensation programs within a medium-to-large business environment. Previous experience working in HR, Consulting or Telecommunications Industry a plus. Because this position is privy to confidential and sensitive information, candidates must demonstrate integrity, discretion and accountability. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail are pre-requisite. In addition, candidates must have:

  • Understanding of Compensation practices
  • Demonstrated experience with market data tool such as PayScale or similar; experience related to participating in compensation surveys
  • Demonstrated an understanding of employment and labor laws and regulations related to compensation and job design
  • Demonstrated an understanding of the theories and principles of internal and external market analysis
  • Demonstrated an understanding of the broader business implications of decisions
  • May be responsible for identifying and resolving systemic issues related to workforce planning, job design or compensation analysis
  • Strong oral and written skills to prepare comprehensive and clear written documents, presentations and policies
  • Strong analytical skills needed to review statistical results to make practical and meaningful recommendations
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and mature business skills
  • Work well in a team environment

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Payscale or other related market data tool
