Job Description


This individual will provide design, development and test support for new software projects as well as responsibility for general maintenance and troubleshooting activities for IT/Data Engineering and Software Development projects. They will play a role in helping adopt new technologies, and developing new platforms. They must have strong relational skills and be able to effectively communicate technical and non-technical ideas, written and verbal, to individuals and large groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

* Perform standard software development tasks associated with the design and development of new applications or maintenance of existing applications using quote-to-cash products, including CPQ (configure/price/quote), order management, revenue and rebate management and other related solutions. The candidate will also be responsible for deploying custom applications using and integrating Salesforce with other systems
* Participate in selection of tools, technology platforms & technical evaluation of 3rd party vendor products
* Ensure applications meet design specifications, adhere to standard coding practices and function per the requirements specification
* Provide recommendations for improving processes and procedures, and may function as an escalation point and/or training resource for less experienced programmers
* Test and validate functionality within and between applications, which could include integration, performance, and/or systems testing
* Provide maintenance support on production applications. Maintain availability for after-hours production support on an as-needed basis
* Participate in application documentation, training and deployment efforts
* Communicate with project manager, technical team lead, team members and business groups on issues and the status of work planned and completed
* Provide guidance to others by reviewing work and providing recommendations for design, coding or testing approach, which could include conducting or participating in code walkthroughs or other methods to ensure code quality
* Function as a technical lead for large applications

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent certification or experience
* 8+ years of application development and integration experience
* 4+ years of experience with web application development, Salesforce integrations/extensions, and designing solutions using API, APEX, Visual Force, SOQL, Eclipse and other tools that extend the product
* Salesforce 401 Certified Developer certification required
* Salesforce 501 Advanced Developer and/or 201 Certified Administrator certification a plus
* Completion of several Salesforce integration and extension projects in development and technical lead roles
* Understanding of SFDC governor limits and best practice guidelines
* Experience with data modeling and relations databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server)
* Experience using API(s) including knowledge around web service integration using SOAP/XML
* Good understanding of master data management in
* Experience with standard SDLC and agile implementation techniques
* Experience with unit testing and test driven development a plus
* Cable billing system knowledge a big plus

Computer Skills:

Fundamental knowledge of standard desktop business applications and tools.
