Job Description


As a Principal Systems Analyst, the role is responsible for supporting Billing Operations interactions with internal departments as it pertains to billing system functionality and operations. The Principal is expected to have subject matter expertise in at least one billing system, and must be capable of achieving functional fluency in one or more additional systems. Furthermore, the Principal must be capable of understanding multiple database structures on multiple database platforms. The Principal is the senior technical person in the department and will work with others to increase the general level of knowledge on the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
* Supports all internal Billing Operations and Development activities and projects
* Manages and produces Billing Operations monthly KPIs
* Monitors, analyzes, and trends data for all billing systems
* Supports or manages Financial Month End analysis and issues
* Researches and resolves discrepancies or conflicts with financial and operational reports
* Supports Revenue Assurance projects and analysis
* Supports ROI evaluation and cost analysis on billing related projects
* Apply Quality Assurance principles and methodologies to define test approaches and test plans
* Execute functionality, compatibility, integration and regression testing for multiple billing platform
* Performs other duties as assigned

* Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university (preferably in a relevant business related field, such as accounting or finance)

-Experience/Skills Needed:

* 10+ years' experience with billing systems and associated Business Support Systems that support customer care, finance, and field operations
* Demonstrates advanced knowledge of billing systems and billing functionality
* Understands billing system integration with OSS/ BSS architecture
* Capable of developing relationships with internal customers and leading discussions to identify and address business requirements and obstacles
* Must have extremely strong data analytical skills; capable of utilizing SQL and SQL based tools and able to draw accurate conclusions from data
* Capable of producing and presenting information in graphical formats
* Strong organization skills are required, with demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple projects and tasks
* Must be able to able to manage priorities, and work in a self-directed manner, and deliver work product on time

-Computer Skills:

* Must possess superior computer skills, with expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access, including the ability to develop and maintain complex spreadsheets for internal financial applications
* Superior knowledge of all other Microsoft Office products is required
* Knowledge of database applications analytical tools, such as SQL, is required
* Experience with billing systems is required; ICOMS or USHA is preferred
* Comprehensive understanding of billing system architecture and relational databases is required
