Network Management Systems (NMS) Specialist

The NMS Specialist will support the installation of various network devices into the network monitoring applications and work with internal teams to ensure that their platforms data is accurate and provides the Network Operations Center the necessary information to properly monitor the entire WOW network.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
* Support the installation of network devices and equipment for both our internal and external customers
* Confirm that all existing network elements and services are properly configured within the Network Management application, and validate polling or alarming data is being captured
* Monitor the health of the Network Management System and work with the Network System Administrator to ensure that the application is functioning optimally
* Prepare requested and ad-hoc utilization, and fault performance reports for distribution of network and customer provided equipment
* Create and maintain network element documentation that will aid the Network Operations Center to effectively diagnose system or customer impacting issues
* Other duties as assigned

* Associates degree in a technical field preferred, along with 1-2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of both education and experience

-Experience/Skills Needed:
* Experience with monitoring/SNMP
* Previous experience with Networking Monitoring Tool Report Generation is required
* Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
* Analyzing data for Network Availability and SLA is required
* Communicate professionally and have excellent oral and written communication skills
* Possess the ability to understand documents such as safety rules and regulations, standard operating procedures, company guidelines, HR documents, and other documents as required

-Computer Skills:

* Microsoft Office Suite, internet software, and email support
