Summary:



This position will focus on support of the WOW backbone and regional networks. The qualified person will review outage incidents and procedures to increase performance, reliability and redundancy through automation and proactive measures. This position will also manage new device deployments and migrations on to new network platforms. Our goal is to build and maintain a carrier class network organization.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:




  • Manage highly skilled individuals who look after the day-to-day operations of all network services within WOW!




  • Provide high level technical support for all advanced network services including MPLS core, metro networks, business services infrastructure and other technical hardware as required

  • Provide reports and reporting tools for Marketing and Local Operations on network services performance

  • Act as the liaison between the technical team and internal customers such as Marketing, Tech Ops, NOC, and the Customer Care Center

  • Provide technical evaluations for each region and assist in network design as needed to keep pace with the growth of our subscribers and technology

  • Investigate methods and procedures to better monitor our network and respond to issues

  • Provide informal training to NOC staff as well as other technical departments




  • Interface with Regional operations and provide onsite assistance to ensure compliance with company standards network related equipment

  • Update existing and develop new documentation

  • Provide after hours technical support and technical troubleshooting for all regions including providing proper escalation to corporate personnel




  • Other duties as assigned

-Education:



Bachelor's degree from four year college or university preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



-Experience/Skills Needed:




  • Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of service provider networks

  • Five years of Service Provider network experience and/or training

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of dedicated engineering professionals

  • Understand and interpret data from various reports regarding network stability

  • Be able to work cooperatively with various teams within WOW!

  • Be able to create clear and concise documents regarding recommendations to improve stability

  • Communicate with internal and external customers
