Summary:


The Security Engineer II will primarily focus on application security, network security, vulnerability management, incident response, and identity management while ensuring the organization adheres to regulations and industry best practices.



Duties & Responsibilities:


Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:



  • Design, develop, and maintain incident response processes and procedures.

  • Performs Discovery and Vulnerability scans and facilitates remediation of these vulnerabilities by risk rating them and providing remediation recommendations.

  • Works with Project Delivery and Security to ensure that systems are placed within the relevant security zones based on the data they house and their purpose.

  • Assesses projects, including functional and detailed design specs to ensure security standards are met.

  • Assists with compliance questionnaires and inquires.

  • Contributes to the development of WOW! Enterprise Architecture and Security policies and procedures.

  • Develops architectural reference material to ensure that security is implemented in a repeatable fashion and adheres to industry regulations and best practices.

  • Identifies enhancements to IT tools, standards, and processes to reduce security vulnerabilities.

  • Consults with Application Development team on code analysis reviews and best practices.

  • Complies with all security policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability are maintained.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be passionate about Information Security.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes within the enterprise and technological landscape.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, ASP, JavaScript, etc.) is a plus.

  • Understanding of regulatory controls for PCI, SOX, SOC2 Type 2, etc.

  • Understanding and hands on experience with incident response and/or forensics is a plus.

  • Experience in large complex MSO organizations, video and cable industry experience a plus.

  • Strong technical background and understanding of security solutions and networking.

  • Understanding of Automation and Orchestration with a focus on developing incident response automation workflows and actions.

  • Preferred candidates will have experience with using SIEM solutions (Splunk, Qradar, RSA Security Analytics, Nitro ESM, etc.).

  • Experience in establishing and documenting standards, guidelines, and best practices.



  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.



  • Understanding of application architectures and software development/deployment methodologies, including in web/mobile/cloud based environments.

  • Knowledge of operating systems, networks, relational databases, legacy systems integration, load balancers, mainframes, and design patterns.

  • Thorough understanding of industry technology standards and trends for application and information security; familiarity with security vulnerability scanning and risk based prioritization.

  • Ability to work independently and within a culturally diverse team environment.

  • Ability to establish relationships with business, IT leaders and technology subject matter experts with effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.


Education/Experience:



  • A minimum of 2-5 years IT experience; at least one of those years focused on IT security

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • SANS GIAC Certifications preferred

  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP certification preferred
