Job Description

The Director of Residential Field Sales is responsible for developing, implementing and tactical execution of the company’s Residential Sales strategies. This includes the management of Field Sales, MDU Community Representatives and Edgeout programs. Working cross-functionally to support compensation plan design, marketing strategy, people management, product, new hire and on-going training support and offer strategy.

What you'll do:

  • Develops and implements competitive sales strategies to meet sales objectives including customer penetration and revenue-per-customer goals
  • Monitors the performance of the sales teams as it relates to the company’s sales and revenue goals.  Assists in providing sales direction to the sales team
  • Establishes and maintains tracking and reporting mechanisms to effectively manage the operations of the sales department and operational coordination of assigned departments
  • Provides leadership and coaching for the Field Sales, MDU Community Representatives and Edgeout programs
  • Providing performance management insights, analytics and reporting that helps the company understand the sales and expense performance for the Field Sales programs
  • Responsible for assisting with development of annual Field Sales programs budget and operating plan (inclusive of the company’s Field Sales, MDU Community Representatives and Edgeout programs)
  • Provide monthly and quarterly status reviews for the Field Sales programs to senior executives
  • Measure and optimize performance across Field Sales, MDU and Edgeout programs
  • Cross-functional leadership; provides primary interface with corporate Sales, Marketing, Finance, and operational coordination of the Installation teams
  • Collaborates, develops and implements incentive programs necessary to meet company objectives
  • Manages activities including supervision of Residential Field Sales Representatives, and new business development strategies, training, tracking, and input to commission schemes
  • Directly supervises Residential Field Sales Manager, MDU Manager and Supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and core values. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; leading, motivating, rewarding and identifying and partnering in areas of opportunity; addressing complaints and conflict resolution. Also responsible for supervision of outside contractors, as required
  • Implements procedures that are uniform and effective throughout the organization in support of sales strategies
  • Provide input as it relates to sales tools that contribute to optimizing the Field Sales programs.

What we're looking for:

Education

  • Must  possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business field is preferred

Experience:

  • 10 years of related Field Sales leadership and management experience in the communications industry or equivalent combination of education and operational experience
  • Knowledgeable about MDU and managing 3rd party contractor teams 
  • Proven track record as a sales leader, demonstrates experience and expertise leading sales teams
  • Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking, strategic and analytical skills
  • Experience communicating and reporting to senior executives
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and adapt work schedule to the needs of the department 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership
  • Must be able to manage information in a confidential manner   
  • Ability to speak in public and motivate others
  • Must possess the ability to create and present information to the organization in a professional manner
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Must be highly organized, flexible, detail-oriented and able to multi-task under pressure
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the standards of WOW’s insurance provider

Computer Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office is preferred
  • Previous experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Previous experience with Tableau a plus
  • Previous experience with tools like Sales Rabbit or MapAnything a plus
