Job Description

The Director of Inventory Control and Warehouse Operations will lead strategies and direct the warehouse operations at a company-wide level to ensure consistencies with a focus on meeting the needs of our customers. The position will provide leadership to ensure all supply chain strategies impacting field operations improve outcomes, reduce variation and impact quality, efficiency, and cost. The Director, Inventory Control and Warehouse Operations position has overall responsibility for the daily inventory management of all tools, parts and materials pertaining to the install, repair and construction activities companywide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Overall responsibility to manage shipping, receiving and stocking of all inventory materials needed for the ongoing operation of company
  • Creation and oversight of policies, procedures and best practices related to Supply Chain Management within field operations facilities, including contract CPE clean and screen partner locations
  • Directs all aspects of the strategic partnership between Field Operations and the CPE clean and screen vendor/outsourcer; serving as liaison for integration, communication and process equity 
  • Works directly with CPE clean and screen partner leadership to ensure KPIs are met including adequate inventory levels to eliminate product shortages while not creating excessive inventory surpluses
  • Serves as primary contact for issues and concerns with CPE clean and screen vendor’s performance; reviewing/evaluating vendor’s performance against contractual agreements and budget
  • Supervises warehouse managers including training, development, coaching, discipline and performance reviews
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement initiatives with regards to inventory and CPE management
  • Maintains accurate records and database of inventory materials received, warehoused and dispersed.
  • Creates, calculates, and monitors inventory reorder points for all items necessary to support field operations including installation, construction, maintenance, and CPE
  • Projects advance inventory requirements in conjunction with construction managers.
  • Provides forecasts to ensure sufficient inventory levels to meet demand while maintaining efficient inventory levels and highest possible inventory turns.
  • Develops and oversees warehouse related KPIs such as quarterly and annual audits of inventory items.
  • Maintains open and professional communication with all department and system leaders that rely on warehouse operations to meet their needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

High School diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of education and experience required.

Warehouse or broadband industry experience required - 5 to 7 years

Supervisory experience required - 5 to 7 years

Computer Skills:

Google/MSOffice software, Internet and E-mail; database and inventory software as required.

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • High comfort level in dealing with senior to middle management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate complex issues and ideas with absolute precision and clarity
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and have a practical approach to implementation
  • Ability to work autonomously and initiate/prioritize own work
  • Experience facilitating, gathering, and documenting business requirements
