Job Title:                     Data Analyst   

Reports to:                  Manager-Forecasting and Scheduling
FLSA Status:               Exempt

Department:                Call Center Administration


The Data Analyst will be required to access and compile large amounts of data, analyze the data, interpret and quantify trends on the operational aspects of the customer care organization. The role will also need to effectively communicate concise findings and recommendations to various levels of WOW’s leadership. The Analyst will work on creating and/or enhancing various analytical tools that will help improve the operational results and may also be required to develop requirements and perform testing on these analytical tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Responsible for providing data analyses for business operations for the customer care organization
  • Gathers and analyzes data thoroughly to identify problems of varying complexities and provide business solutions; via data analysis, uncover the insights to the business that may be hidden in the data
  • Create accurate and timely analyses on a wide variety of areas including operational performance, trend analysis, campaign performance, and subscriber behavior.
  • Additional responsibilities may include offer forecasting and assist managers in developing and maintaining operational dashboards.
  • Provide insight into and develop new ideas and approaches to improve operational results.
  • Partner with cross functional teams such as Finance, Strategy, Business Analytics and Customer Care to understand enterprise trends, competitive environment and their impacts on subscriber behavior and provide conclusions and recommendations to business owners. 
  • Conduct trending analysis to identify improvements and understand the customer experience aimed at actionable business improvement
  • Analysis efforts will include utilizing structured and unstructured data across different systems and platforms through various data manipulation, cleaning and merging techniques to deliver complex and or advanced statistical modeling analysis, actionable recommendations and meaningful insights
  • Statistical analysis to identify correlations within the data
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university; or at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Prefer candidates with degree in quantitative analysis, mathematics, economics or finance with prior experience in consumer services and products
  • Prefer candidates with educational background or working experience with statistics
  • Highly analytical and creative thinker
  • Experience in preparing written project status reports and executive briefings required
  • Highly disciplined self-starter with solid collaboration and communication skills who thrives on data, language and technology
  • Must be self-directed, organized and detail oriented as well as have the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to communicate and work effectively with business managers and diverse cross-functional groups
  • Ability to accommodate change and adapt accordingly
  • Have participated or led data analysis in highly complex business problems
  • Have developed executive level presentations that identify business trends, operational successes and opportunities based on transactional data

Computer Skills:

  • Skilled in Excel, Access, SAS and SQL
  • Proficiency with word processing, excel spreadsheets, Power point presentations, Internet software, E-mail, Database software
  • Must be able to use in-house billing and CRM systems in order to effectively produce metric reports
