VP, Commercial Sales


 


The VP, Commercial Sales is responsible for the execution of strategy, organizational design and tactical execution of the company's Business Services direct sales team. The role oversees all aspects of field sales, account management and sales engineering for small business, mid-market, enterprise and wholesale customer segments and will drive revenue for WOW's commercial products and services.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:




  • Develop comprehensive strategic sales plans to grow revenue and product penetration including territory and staffing analysis, market prioritization and sales plan execution

  • Lead strategic account planning, sales funnel management and sales forecasting across assigned teams

  • Oversee the account management team for revenue retention, revenue growth, product penetration and customer satisfaction

  • Partner with cross functional teams to identify opportunities for sales process improvement and facilitate successful implementation of new programs through the sales organization, by ensuring a well-defined, efficient sales process is in place for launch, while fostering an organization of continuous process improvement.

  • Establish and equitably assign sales quotas in partnership with human resources and business intelligence teams to ensure the firm's financial objectives are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources

  • Develop and implement segment specific sales strategies, and action plans for identified accounts and vertical segments to ensure objectives, goals, and win strategies are clearly defined.



  • Create and implement incentive programs in support of sales and product goals and in alignment with established company process for evaluation and execution

  • Participate in the development of annual sales force planning and budget objectives

  • Lead the development of sales process and priority prospects in collaboration with related operational departments and in support of optimized sales and capital efficiency

  • In conjunction with marketing and product teams develop competitive pricing, packaging and go-to-market strategy for accelerated market share and revenue growth and retention

Education:




  • Related Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or five to seven years of related sales management experience in the communications industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Experience/Skills Needed:




  • Minimum of 10 years' experience managing enterprise, SMB and wholesale sales teams in the telecommunications industry

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Must be highly organized, flexible, detail-oriented and able to multi-task under pressure

  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the standards of WOW's insurance company

  • Professional appearance and attitude

  • Ability to speak in public and motivate others



Computer Skills:



Requires thorough working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Requires basic working knowledge of MS Project, MS Access and MS PowerPoint.
