Job Description

The Strategic Account Executive position is responsible for generating new sales revenue and promoting WOW!’s complex data and voice solutions by identifying, initiating contact with, and qualifying new potential customers.  The Strategic Account Executive will be strategic and work closely with the Account Manager to go wide and deep into the targeted account by selling a full suite of complex data and voice solutions ensuring close alignment with the complex needs of the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Prospect, develop, negotiate with, and close new accounts within a defined, targeted customer base
  • Develop, maintain, and close all incremental sales with strategic products for assigned customers
  • Lead and orchestrate WOW! resources and personnel in support of the customer relationship
  • Present professionally to and engage with C-Level executives
  • Understand and navigate a complex sales process
  • Manage a sale module of at least 50 customers and maintain a funnel in line with company expectations
  • Deliver and maintain required monthly quota established by the department manager
  • Accurately complete paperwork associated with each customer order and/or request
  • Provide accurate weekly 30/60/90/120 day sales forecasts
  • Use Salesforce to improve effectiveness of sales efforts and give visibility to senior management
  • Actively maintain and present account plans of assigned customer base
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-7 years’ experience in the Strategic Accounts Telecommunications industry or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • Working knowledge of the cable, telecommunications, and data industries
  • Working knowledge of financial measurements such as IRR, NPV, Fixed Cost, and Variable Cost
  • Experience with identifying, prospecting, and penetrating defined base of accounts
  • Experience maintain and growing existing relationships with strategic customer
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the business and economic models associated with Strategic Customers who require fiber optic based solutions
  • Possess an intuitive understanding of the telecommunication business from a technical, economic, and regulatory standpoint
  • Must be self-motivated, with excellent time management, organizational skills and complex problem solving
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and proven presentation skills

Computer Skills:

  • Strong level of competency with technologies such as MPLS, Security Services, VOIP, VPN’s, IP, VPLS, Ethernet, Ethernet Private Line, DWDM, and dark fiber leases
  • Understand and the ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office
