Job Description

The Senior Accountant - General Ledger performs timely and accurate journal entries, analytics, and account reconciliations used in the closing and reporting process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Preparation, review, and posting of accurate and timely complex general ledger account reconciliations

  • Monitor daily and identify, research, and reconcile account variances by conducting detailed analysis with a focus on process improvement

  • Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger records and reconciliations

  • Participate in activities related to the month-end closing process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, variance explanations, and financial reporting

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, reporting deadlines, and transactions are performed within a sound internal control environment, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.

  • Prepare and review schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits.

  • Provide management with information for decision-making by writing complex queries and producing reports. 

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships by working cross-functionally with other disciplines throughout the company providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy

  • Other duties as assigned

  • BS/BA in Accounting required

  • CPA preferred but not required


  • 6+ years of accounting work experience required

  • Public accounting experience preferred

  • Cable and/or telecommunications industry experience preferred

  • Audit experience preferred

  • Experience in a public company setting and preparing information to support public filings

  • Continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated process improvements

  • Proven problem solving and communication skills

  • Extraordinary attention to detail

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, team environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across functions and levels of an organization to drive teams towards success-based results

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and SUMIFS

  • Experience with NetSuite preferred

The minimum base pay salary for this position is $60,500. Salary may be negotiable based on experience. The minimum salary does not include any other pay elements in which this position may be eligible.
