The Network Engineer II's primary responsibilities are to assist with Engineering design review, Lab integration testing, Network documentation and Network deployment of the WOW Network Infrastructure. What you'll de doing:

  • Review engineering design.

  • Install, configure and test in Integration Lab.

  • Develop standard implementation Method of Procedure (MOP).

  • Integration support of infrastructure required to deliver services.

  • Maintain build book of infrastructure and services being delivered across WOW Network.

  • Execute handoff plan and knowledge transfer to NOC and Assurance Teams.

  • Monitor and lead scheduled maintenance work.

  • Escalation for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing Network related impairments.

  • Prepare work package Documentation.

  • Open change request tickets.

  • Build system support documentation including instructional procedures, provisioning guidelines, test plans, problem documentation and functional process flows.

  • Participate in research pertaining to development of network systems and management tools.

  • Works closely with more senior engineers.

  • Plans projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented. Limited planning required outside of immediate or assigned task.

  • Contributes to milestones.

  • Works on many phases or sub-tasks of project or entire projects of all levels of complexity.

  • Results of work impact project completion.

  • Leading of technical staff and/or Network Engineer I and II.

What we're looking for:


  • BS required or equivalent work experience

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • 4-8 years' experience in field

  • Able to train and lead peers within functional working team.

  • Effectively able to give presentations to general audiences and write convincing proposals and reports with all necessary supporting material for consumption.

  • Exercises considerable latitude and technical judgement in deciding work methods.

  • Independently resolves approach to assigned duties.

  • Initiative proven on moderate problem solving within assigned duties.

  • Technical accomplishments are documented in detail.

  • Understands and applies mid-level concepts and techniques of the technology.

  • Capable of configuring, designing and implementing medium to large-scale networks using routing protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, and OSPF.

  • Detailed working knowledge of BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, MPLS VPN's (Layer 2, Layer 3, VPLS, etc.), Multicast, OSPF, and RSVP.

  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches is a plus.

  • Experience with Junos OS required.

  • Maintains an active JNCIA and/or CCNA and equivalent work experience. CCNP/JNCIS/JNCIP desired.

  • Possess solid TCP/IP experience including configuration of Juniper routers and switches.

  • IOS / IOX (Cisco)


Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office

  • Google Application Suite (i.e. Doc, Drive, Sheets)

  • Terminal Applications (i.e. SecureCRT, Putty, etc...)

  • Collaboration Applications (i.e. Lucid Chart, Slack, Zoom, etc...)
