The Infrastructure Assurance Engineer II position provides advanced operational support of Data Services (DNS, DHCP), Provisioning Systems, IPAM, EMS, Performance Tools, SDN Controllers. This position collaborates and drives Hardware and Software deployments, lifecycle management, performance reporting and running books.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Perform operational support for the infrastructure and applications supporting the provisioning and management of our services including platforms such as DNS, BAC, Content Delivery Networks, and Orchestration Platforms

  • Focus on developing automation for processes currently being managed across the operational landscape

  • Maintain inventory of existing applications, GUIs, and tools used throughout partner organizations within the company and look for opportunities for consolidation and optimization

  • Develop preventive maintenance standards and schedules and ensure they are implemented accordingly

  • Utilize DevOps methodology to ensure that internal and 3rd party provided software is deployed in reliable way with little to no customer impact.  Maintain dialogue with vendors and internal developers relating to software release cycles, deployments, etc.

  • Verify that all operational measurements and statistics for all service platforms and applications are being monitored and responded to accordingly to ensure maximum uptime

  • Ensure that all service platforms and applications are backed up according to established policies and procedures and maintains responsibilities for implementing disaster recovery when required

  • Deploy servers, virtualization technologies, operating systems, applications and ensure optimization of technical performance aspects in the infrastructure environment

  • Establish, manage and administer the enterprise's service inventory within the Service Inventory Database.  Monitor and report on usage of the service inventory database

  • Manage environments inclusive of web servers, database servers, VMWare, SAN, and blades to ensure efficient functionality

  • Update hardware required for maintenance of servers, detect system and application issues, and ensure smooth flow of data throughout the ecosystem. Manage the security of infrastructure systems and inter-application information transfers

  • Ensure optimum uptime for infrastructure and cloud environments

  • Work in conjunction with Virtual Services Engineering and Implementation Operations to deploy infrastructure engineering projects and ensure sufficient redundancy.

  • Leads technical staff and/or Engineer I

  • Responsible for providing guidance and effectively train his/her work group. 

  • Responsible for effectively leading work teams within the work group.

  • Participate in a weekly on call rotation to support resolution of issues outside of normal business hours

  • Other duties as assigned

  • BS in a related field or equivalent

Experience/Skills Needed:

  • 3 – 5 years experience required

  • Experienced with a number of platforms and/or systems. Subject Matter Expert in at least one area or system. Working knowledge of a number of other areas of specialization Technical accomplished are documented

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Applications

  • Familiarity with Go Language, Python, and Java.

  • Understanding of database design and implementation (Cassandra, MySQL, MongoDB, etc)

  • Experience with virtualization

  • Experience with Storage technologies

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols and components
